Join some of Ireland’s most celebrated artists at this always-lively fundraiser for Russborough. Part art fair, part car boot sale - it's a chance to engage with the artists and their art informally, and enjoy the exclusive opportunity to pick up a temptingly affordable piece. Or two. Perhaps even have your own portrait done on the spot.
Who is participating?
We look forward to welcoming back prominent members of the Royal Hibernian Academy such as Colin Martin, Blaise Smith, Vera Klute, Dorothy Smith and Una Sealy.
Appropriate to the glorious backdrop of the West Wicklow mountains and Blessington Lakes, landscape artists such as Ann Quinn & Daniel Lipstein, Rachel Burke and Hanneke van Ryswyck. Artist Gabhann Dunne is inspired not just by the landscape but also by ancient folklore and tradition enmeshed with animal mythologies.
Other participants include illustrious abstract painters such as Eamon Colman, Stephen Rinn and Helen Blake. Illustrator P J Lynch will also have some prints along with original drawings, oil paintings and signed books while Sean Molloy, Catherine Barron, John O’Reilly and Patrick Redmond will tempt us with specially produced and priced new works for the event.
Coinciding with the autumn rally for the Blessington Vintage Car and Motorcycle club, a fabulous array of rare and antique vehicles can be seen on the carriage sweep to the front of the house. Take some time to chat to the knowledgeable enthusiasts who care for these wonderful pieces of history.
The Car Boot Art Fair will take place in the West Courtyard, follow the signposts from the car park.
Tickets €10. 11am to 4pm, Sun. 11th Sept. Children go free.
