These color charts come from the oldest known work on color – long before Pantone! – since its author was a 17th ^- century Dutchman, A. Boogert. The full title of the work is very long but can be summed up as "Treatise on Colors used in Water-Based Painting". It is kept at the Méjanes Library in Aix-en-Provence.
